Students can now take IB and A-Levels at NAS Dubai.
Nord Anglia School Dubai (NAS Dubai) has introduced A-Level qualifications for its students.
The Dubai-based British curriculum school, which already offers the International Baccalaureate, is now offering students an alternative for their last two years at school.
In September 2021, 12 A-Level subjects will be on offer including English language and literature, Maths, Biology, PE, Geography, Business Studies, Computer Studies, Chemistry, Drama, Art, Design Technology, Economics and Psychology.
Additional subjects will then be added for the following year.
A-Level students will also be able to take part in the Duke of Edinburgh award scheme, and will complete the EPQ (Extended Project Qualification), which allows students the opportunity to develop their interests in a particular topic, experience or skill.
NAS Dubai principal, Matthew Farthing, said: “After just three years of graduating classes we are thrilled to introduce A-Levels to the students of NAS.
Our students are very good at directing their own learning, and as a result, we have been approached by a number of them who want to study A-Levels and remain at NAS Dubai for Sixth Form. This addition to our education platform is a direct result of healthy, professional negotiation with our existing students.”
There are currently only two other schools in Dubai offering both qualifications for sixth form pupils, making NAS Dubai the third to offer the choice for secondary pupils.
