Indian School, Al-Ain was established in the year 1977 by a few hardworking and enthusiastic philanthropists of the Indian Community in Al-Ain. It was a time when the Indian Community was slowly expanding and there were no educational facilities for their children in and around Al-Ain City.

The school had its modest beginning with a handful of small kids in a rented building in Kuwaithath area. As the time progressed the student strength also increased and accordingly the school was shifted to different localities in Al Ain with better facilities.

In the year 1982 H.H. Shaikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the then benevolent ruler of Abu Dhabi & the President of U.A.E., allotted a plot of land to the school in Manasir area through H.E. Sh. Tahnoon Bin Mohd. Al Nahyan, the ruler’s representative in the eastern region. In the year 1984, the school achieved its major landmark when the management of the school, crossing all the hurdles, managed to erect a modest building of its own.

Indian School, Al Ain got affiliation with CBSE, New Delhi in the year 1985. Looking to the need for an examination centre for CBSE in Al Ain region, CBSE appointed Indian School, Al Ain as the examination centre in 1988. Progressing on the path of success, the school started its Senior School in the year 1989 to coach grade XI & XII students of CBSE curriculum.

In the year 1990, a new block for girls section was inaugurated. With the expanding need of the school, another new block for Primary section was erected in the year 1992.

An extension of the existing Primary section and Kindergarten block was done  in the year 2005 to facilitate the increasing need of the students. A Fourth block of classrooms and Labs with modern facilities is also operational to cater to the needs of increasing number of students.

An extension of the administrative block with two blocks of classrooms, a spacious library with all amenities, language lab, maths lab, prayer rooms, books store, sports room, activities room etc is the latest addition to our ever increasing infrastructure.

At present the school is the most coveted full fledged Senior Secondary School in Al Ain  imparting education from kindergarten to Grade XII of CBSE curriculum. Along with its vast playground and indoor games facilities the school has a well developed library and fully equipped laboratories for Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science & Psychology.

Apart from excellent academic records, the school also has distinguished achievements in co-curricular activities to its credit.

Having completed Thirty Eight glorious years of its existence, the school stands tall amongst other schools of Al Ain in academic excellence and infrastructure facilities offered at affordable fees.  With quality teachers and teaching, technological advancements and manpower, the school continues to prepare the students to care for the welfare of the society at large. Here they are trained to apply their skills and knowledge for advancement of themselves and discover the purpose of their existence.

The Governing council, administration and well qualified and trained teachers are very earnest in maintaining discipline, providing adequate facilities for cultural and extra curricular activities with educational excellence of the highest standard.

The benevolence of the Rulers of Abu Dhabi, the co-operation of various Government Departments, the prudence of management by Governing council, the assistance and hard work of the staff, the continued support and faith of parents, the satisfaction of  students and well wishers of the Institution are the sinews of our strength.
