Applications for the Academic year 2024-2025 are open!

Kindly fill in the Online Enquiry to initiate the admissions process and ensure that the necessary documents are uploaded thereafter. You will receive an SR number of successful completion of the online registration. The dates for the interview/ entrance test will be intimated to you via e-mail. Admission is granted on the basis of the interview/ entrance test.

At the time of registration, the following documents will be required:

• 1 copy of child’s passport, visa and Emirates ID
• 1 copy of both parent’s passport, visa and Emirates ID
• 1 copy of child’s birth certificate (English/Arabic)
• 2 recent passport size photographs of the child
• Two years of school reports including any learning support documents pertaining to your child’s educational needs. (for early years, please submit nursery reports if available)
• School Health Form (download here)
• For overseas students the original Emirates ID of child and both parents * this will be required at the time of enrolment.
• Transfer Certificate or School Leaving Certificate * this will be required at the time of enrolment
• Students coming from other Emirates other than Dubai, the Transfer/Leaving Certificate should be attested by the Ministry of Education of that Emirate.
• Students coming from GCC Countries, the Transfer/School Leaving Certificate should be attested by the Ministry of Education.
• Students coming from India the Transfer Certificate/Leaving Certificate need to be attested by the Education Officer of the Zone/District/Area from where the Certificate is obtained. The seal and signature of the Education Officer has to be verified by the Indian Consulate in Dubai and the UAE Foreign Affairs Ministry.

Attestation is not required for students transferring from schools in UK, US, Canada, Australia or Europe.

Withdrawals

While we do not like to see anyone leave us, students who wish to be withdrawn from GEMS Modern Academy-Dubai must complete the online withdrawal process. A step-by-step guide on how to complete this process can be found here.

The completed Withdrawal Form (form here) along with a fee of AED 126/- for the Transfer Certificate (which can be paid online) is to be submitted to the school office after the online withdrawal process.

NEW STUDENTS

Application Fee (when registering online): AED 525 (including VAT)

This fee is:

• Refundable if the school does not offer the student a place. Unless, the child’s registration is carried forward to the following academic year.
• Non-refundable if the school offers the student a place but the student chooses not to take it.
• Not deductible from the total tuition fees to be paid if the student is offered and accepts a place.

Registration Deposit: 10% of the total tuition fee.

This deposit is:

• Payable after the student has been offered a place and parents have accepted the offer.
• Deductible from the total tuition fees for the academic year.
• Non-refundable

EXISTING STUDENTS

Re-registration Deposit: 5% of the total tuition fee for the next academic year.

This deposit is:

• Payable at the time of Re-enrolment to guarantee a place for the following academic year.
• Deductible from the total tuition fees for the academic year.
• Non-refundable.

Payment Policies

The tuition fees are due prior to the start of the academic year and payable in advance of attendance, at the start of each month. Tuition fees will be invoiced from the time of admission to ensure that payments can be processed before the start of the month. If your circumstances change, it is essential that you contact us in advance of the deadline so that we can guide you on available options. Please note, all tuition fees are in accordance with the fee structure established by GEMS Education under the guidance of KHDA established School Fee Framework.

Payment of Fees

1. Fees will not be collected in July and August.
2. The Application Fee is payable at the time of the online registration, and is charged to process the application of new students. Once the child receives a formal offer from the school, the registration deposit is charged to enroll the child and secure the seat.
3. If new students enroll at a school during the course of the academic year, the school can charge tuition fees starting from the beginning of the month of enrolment.

Method of payment

Cash, cheque and credit card are accepted, and payment can be made in person at the school accounts office or through the online parent portal. In addition to this, payments of fees and tuition can also be paid by wire transfer directly to the school bank account. (Provided upon request)

Non-payment of Fees

Students may not be permitted to appear for the school examination if their fees are not paid. Failure to pay school fees may result in a loss of the student’s place in the school, withholding of their school reports, references, and/or examination results, as well as, temporary or permanent expulsion or exclusion from school.

Refunds

1. In the case of both existing and new students, the registration and re-registration deposit will not be refunded unless there are extenuating circumstances. These circumstances include, but are not limited to relocation to another country/Emirate or any other unforeseen circumstances.
2. In the case of refund, the school fees will be calculated as follows:
   • Tuition fees paid prior to the beginning of the academic year are refundable and only the registration / re-registration fees will be deducted.
   • If the student was enrolled in the school for two weeks or less, a month’s fees will be deducted.
   • If the student was enrolled in the school for more than a month, the full terms fees will be deducted.
3. The refund will be calculated from the start of the term and the date of the official request by the parent stating the intent of withdrawal and not from the date when the student was absent. Being on the school register counts as days in school.
4. If paid with credit card or online, monies will be refunded back to the credit card. Cash payments will be refunded via cheque.

Re-Enrolments

Please note, students who are unable to be registered with the ministry due to missing required documentation, or students with an outstanding fee balance, will not be able to be re-enrol for the next academic year.

Withdrawals

KHDA School Fees Framework

The objective behind the development of a framework to regulate school fees is to protect the students and their parents as beneficiaries of educational services, as well as to provide a favorable environment for investors in the education sector and encourage them to improve the quality of education in the Emirate of Dubai. This is achieved by creating a comprehensive mechanism for the implementation of tuition fees which takes account of the educational and economic aspects and protects the interests of all stakeholders.

The framework has been developed in line with the strategic goals of KHDA and as a result of community engagement through parent surveys and investor feedback on this issue. The framework motivates schools to improve the quality of education, whilst at the same time protecting the interests of both parents and investors.
