Virtual New Student Orientation (VNSO) 2020 is now ready!
The link will be available to all deposited incoming students. Each student only has one link to access the virtual orientation session, but parents/family members may sit with the student during the program.
What is the Virtual Parent Orientation?
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, AUD will be implementing an online orientation program this fall for both students and parents. Our online program will be a complete orientation experience! The orientation will be taking place on two separate steps.
- Students and parents will be accessing the online link to go over the orientation modules, at any time it is convenient for them, as long as it is done before August 21st.
- Upon completion of the online orientation, students will be scheduled for the Virtual Life orientation session which will take place between August 23-27.
At the Orientation for parents and family members students will have the opportunity to:
- Learn about a variety of student services including housing, financial aid, student health, community safety, counseling, career planning, and the academic programs
- Meet academic deans and university staff, and become acquainted with their roles in the university community and their contributions to student learning and development
- Meet current AUD students and find out their perspectives on life as a student at AUD campus
- Learn about the many ways for parents and families to contribute to the adjustment and achievement of a AUD student, as well as the transition you will experience at home
- Find answers to your questions about student life away from home, university level study, and the academic and social environments at AUD
Orientation is mandatory, it gives students an important head start in preparing for their college career. Parents are not required to attend, but by participating in the Online Orientation they can learn more about AUD and gain a greater understanding of what students will be experiencing.
