The rationale was to provide an appropriate standard of education for the children of expatriate employers, to ensure that they would not be socially or academically disadvantaged when they returned to their home countries. We are located on the border between the United Arab Emirates and Oman in the scenic UNESCO world heritage site in the oasis city of Al Ain.
The original model chosen was that of a British system school and that policy has continued to the present day, although recognising that we can be flexible and draw on best practice from other educational systems if appropriate. Children can be admitted to the Nursery classes at the age of 3 (by September 1st) and continue, in Secondary, to take A level examinations at age 18.

GENERAL INFORMATION
The school requires that on entry children should be able to communicate in English at a level appropriate to their age and development.
Children of other nationalities seeking a British education are welcome to apply. Where English is not a child’s first language it will be necessary for the school to assess the child’s ability in English. In addition, children transferring from different educational systems will need a placement assessment as part of the assessment procedure, and acceptance will depend on the result.
The academic year runs from September 1st to August 31st of each calendar year.
Applications for Nursery are considered, provided a child is three years of age before the start of the academic year. It should be noted that the school has only limited space in Nursery.
Placement of pupils from Foundation Stage 2 to Year 10 matches the National Curriculum of England and Wales cohorts.
