Admission Process

We welcome families and students from every stage of their education to become part of our learning community. Our dedicated admissions team will ensure a smooth and easy admissions process that meets your needs.

TIAD is pleased to announce that enrolment for the 2024-25 academic year is now open for students from Pre-Kg (age 3) to Grade 12 (age 17).

Application Process

To begin the admission process fill up the online enquiry form here or under the home page of The Indian Academy, Dubai. Complete the Online Student Enquiry & Registration. Once you complete the enquiry form, you will receive an acknowledgement with an online reference number and advice on the following steps.

You will be required to pay an Application Fee (Registration fees) of AED 500+vat online or by visiting the school to initiate the registration. You will need to login our Admission portal to pay the application fee online using the credentials mentioned above. (online payment gateway charges may apply). You are encouraged to pay the fees online to avoid possible long wait times at school.

  • This fee is Non-refundable if the school offers the student a place, but the student chooses not to take it.
  • Parents are required to provide the listed documents to complete the application.

Please note you are requested to upload the documents online. Due to the large volume of applications, we will not be able to accept these documents through email.

Our Academic team will review the child’s school reports and the child will be scheduled for an assessment/interview.

Required Documents:

  • Passport (Copies of the child, father and mother)
  • Residency visa page (Copies of the child, father and mother – when available)
  • Emirates ID card back & front (Copies of the child, father and mother- when available)
  • Copy of your child’s birth certificate in English (if in Arabic, please provide translated to English)
  • Recent passport size photograph of your child
  • Copies of your child’s last 2 years’ school reports for children entering Grade 1 and above, last 2 years’ school reports or CAT 4 report for children entering Grade 3 and above
  • 6 months validity medical, therapy report, if your child is with special educational needs.
  • Medical reports have to be submitted if the student has any medical condition.
  • Copy of your child’s immunization card
  • Original Emirates ID of child and both the parents (will be required if your child is accepted into The Indian Academy Dubai)
  • Transfer certificate or previous schools’ leaving certificate.

North America, Western Europe and Australia:School Principal’s signature and school stamp & JanuaryMiddle east (excluding UAE), south and central America, Asia, Russia and former Russian states, Eastern Europe, Africa and New Zealand.:

2.Attestation by the Ministry of education in the country of origin

Your child will be invited by the Admission Officer for an assessment or for an interview (when appropriate and if necessary) via email notification or phone.
CAT4 or INTERVIEW or WRITTEN ASSESSMENTS (when required) or the SCHOOL REPORT/CAT4 REVIEW will be evaluated.
Results will be notified via email or by phone.

Alternatives to an On Campus Visit Schedule a one-on-one Virtual Meeting  with our Admissions Officer. Schedule a time slot for a call back or a virtual meeting with our Admissions representatives to assist and guide you through your child’s admissions journey. The virtual meeting will be through Microsoft Teams or Zoom.

Admission Officer will be sending confirmation letters to successful applicants, subject to seat availability.

  • After the student has been offered a place and parents have accepted the offer, an admission fee of AED 500/- along with Seat confirmation fee of 10% of the Tuition fee is payable either in cash or through credit card and is deductible from the tuition fees for the academic year.
  • This is a non-refundable deposit and shall be payable within 10 working days to confirm the seat. If it is not paid within 10 working days, the admission will be moved to the waiting list and may only be available by turn.
  • The tuition fee is payable in advance by 10 monthly instalments for all the grades from Pre-KG to Gr9. For Gr10 to Gr12, the tuition fee is payable in advance by 9 monthly instalments. Tuition fee is payable on or before 5th of every month.
  • The Annual fees shall be payable before the beginning of the Academic Year or joining date.

It is important to note that admissions at this stage is subject to approval from the KHDA, where a routine document check is done. Subsequent to this admission will be regularized. Once the above process is completed student is officially enrolled.

Age requirements guidelines

TIAD places students in age-appropriate grade levels in accordance with the Ministry of Education/KHDA regulations.

Families are encouraged to use the country comparison chart below to ensure that they are applying to the correct grade level, taking into account the differences that exist in the naming of “grades” around the world.

Age Criteria

The child must be in the minimum age before March 31st,2024.

Pre-KG : Student needs to be 3yrs of age by March 31st of the academic year.

  • Students ability to act and  respond to simple instructions
  • All Pre-kg students are expected to be toilet trained before the start of the academic year
  • Assessments for Pre-kg are based primarily on observation of the child at play, engaging her/him in conversation to observe communication skills, social development, manners and physical development

Grade 1 : Students applying for Grade 1 must complete 6 years as on 31st March 2024.

Transfer Certificate Guidelines:

Transfer certificate must be on official school letterhead and must contain the below information:

  • Full name of student
  • Date of birth
  • Enrolment date and the year group when the child first started at the current school
  1. Present class
  2. Year/Grade completed
  3. Year/Grade promoted to
  • School curriculum
  • Principal signature and school stamp

Please note, as per the KHDA mandate, the following criteria need to be adhered to and an undertaking of acceptance and agreement to the below  is required in order to confirm admission for your child.

  1. Any student transferring from schools inside Dubai shall be allowed to attend classes commencing from April of the new academic year only when the transfer certificate is received from the previous school, and registration has been completed with the original Emirates ID of the student and the parent (Sponsor).
  2. Any student transferring from other emirates of the UAE shall be allowed to attend classes commencing from April of the new academic year only when the transfer certificate from the previous school, duly attested by the Ministry of Education of that emirate, is received, and registration has been completed with the original Emirates ID of the student and the parent (Sponsor).
  3. Any student from outside the UAE shall be allowed to attend classes commencing from April of the new academic year upon submission of a leaving certificate, duly attested by the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Foreign affairs and the UAE embassy of the country of the previous school, and when registration has been completed with the original Emirates ID of the student as well as the parent (Sponsor).

Re-Registration Fee deposit for Existing Students

This deposit is payable at the time of Re-Registration to process to ensure a place for your child(ren) in the following academic year.

The Re-registration deposit is 5% of the total tuition fees and is deductible from the total tuition fees for the academic year. Please note, this is a non-refundable deposit.

To secure a place in the next academic year, you would have to remit a Re-Registration amount of AED 500 which is fully adjustable against the fee of  first month in the following year. We offer a convenient flexible payment plan for an excellent education. We strive to make the payment process as easy as possible with an array of payment options.

Payment Policies

The tuition fees are due prior to the start of the academic year and payable in advance at the start of each term. Tuition fees will be invoiced from the time of admission to ensure that payments can be processed before the start of the term. All tuition fees are in accordance with the fee structure approved by M/s. KHDA.

Those who wish to pay the tuition fees in three termly instalments, have to pay the first term fee (40%) before 5th September 2023 and pay the remaining term fee by 2 Postdated cheques of 30% each dated 5th January 2024 and 5th April 2024, along with the first term fee for the next two terms.

Fee Structure for AY 2024-2025

Please note that school fees for the academic year are subject to change in accordance with Article 51 the Bylaw of Federal Law No. (28) of 1999 concerning Private Education and applicable regulations.

The Admission Fee and Application Fee is only for new admissions. It is a non-refundable fee payable upon registration.

Payment Methods

  • The School Fees can be paid by three termly/monthly installments
  • Cash, credit card, and cheque payments can be made at the School Fee Counter,
  • Online Payment – Making an online payment is so easy. Login to the parent E-Portal using the link https://portal.leamseducation.com/ (Transaction charges may apply-1%)
  • Wire transfer – Fees can be paid by direct bank transfer to the below mentioned bank account of the school :

Important Notes

  • The School fee structure is set in compliance with the rules and regulations. It may change subject to the approval of  KHDA.
  • Cheque payments are subject to clearance into the bank account of the school.
  • Cheques shall be deposited on due date and cannot be postponed in any circumstances.
  • School Uniforms to be purchased separately.
  • School Books to be purchased separately.

Transport Fee

The school shall facilitate transportation of the students at affordable cost.  Transport fee is subject to the area of residence. Transportation fees should be paid during the first week of April, September & January. The fee details will be available from the school.

Refunds

The Admission fee and the Application fee are non-refundable in all circumstances, except when the school reject for the student.

In the case of refund of the school fees, the fees will be calculated as follows:

  • If the student was enrolled in the school for two weeks or less, a month’s fees will be deducted.
  • If the student was enrolled in the school for a period ranging between two weeks and one month, two months’ fees will be deducted.
  • If the student was enrolled in the school for more than a month, the full term’s fees will be deducted.
  • The refund will be calculated from the start of the term and the date of the official request by the parent stating the intent of withdrawal and not from the date when the student was absent. Being on the school register counts as days in school.
  • Fees refund will be processed by way of cheque only even it is paid by cash, by credit card or online.

Student Withdrawal

All students withdrawing from the school must submit a notification of their withdrawal in writing to the registrar’s office. A 30 days notification period is required to ensure all necessary documents are ready.

Non-Payment of Fees

Students may not be permitted to appear for the school examination if their fees are not paid. Failure to pay school fees may result in loss of the student’s place in the school, withholding of their school reports, references and/or examination results, as well as temporary expulsion or exclusion from school.
